  • Wild Pineapple

  • A wild pineapple growing in the jungle of the Twin Falls area on Maui. Pineapples have been a long time symbol of Hawaii but they are not native to the Hawaiian islands. The large pineapple industry that was built on Hawaii in the early 1900 used to supply over 80% of the world’s output of canned pineapple. In Hawaiian, a pineapple is called "hala kahiki".
