The roof of the Casa Batlló, one of the most spectacular work of Gaudí in Barcelona, is the largest polychrome sculpture of the building. The front covers a large room fit with water tanks at the highest level of the façade. Gaudí found an aesthetic sense - the backbone of the dragon - to a functional necessity of a time when running water did not have enough pressure to meet the standards of comfort.
